Great Gulf Trail

Bob Kittredge, a T25 finisher, offers this description of the Great Gulf Trail (7.4 miles and 4650 feet of elevation gain):

"Long and strenuous.  It's a little hard to follow on the headwall because the blazes are not being kept up, it now being a designated wilderness area.  Keep your eyes pealed for small cairns and faded yellow blazes."

Many who hike this trail describe it as difficult to follow.  Also, according to the White Mountain Guide, this trail has brook crossings that can be dangerous and difficult in high water.  As always, make sure you have your map and compass with you.
